Your first session.
Test one real course and lab. Check the original material as you go, then tell us what worked and where you got stuck.
1. Get access
Request access with the Google account you plan to use. The pilot owner manually reviews requests. If approved, you receive sign-in instructions by email. Use the exact Google account that was approved.
2. Prepare your laptop
Keep your laptop online, plugged into power and awake during collection. Install regular Edge on Windows, or Chrome or Edge on Mac. Close older Companion sessions. Keep normal operating system protections on. No Render or Vercel login, administrator setup or terminal command is needed for the intended installation flow.
Windows Companion is available from Microsoft Store. Use the download and setup section below for the official link, update instructions and current release limits. Mac downloads are still being qualified. You can use the website with saved material, personal notes and supported files; automatic Moodle collection runs through Companion on a connected computer.
3. Bring in your current courses
When your Companion is available, run its file, browser and service checks. Connect your approved Neyvu account, then personally sign into moodle.acadiau.ca in the Companion window. Review the Moodle identity and choose each current lecture and separate lab. If an active lab is missing from In progress, check All before reviewing the selection.
Import only after you have confirmed those choices. Leave Companion and Moodle open. Watch collection and reading separately: a saved file is not always readable yet. Review named gaps and retry recoverable reads. If a page is restricted or unreadable, record that gap rather than assuming it was imported.
4. Try the whole loop
- Open Sources. Compare one assignment or quiz instruction body and one PDF detail with Moodle or your uploaded original.
- Ask a detail question. Open its citation and check that it supports the answer.
- Ask what you need to do this week. Include quizzes, labs and in-class work. Compare dates with the official material. Missing evidence does not mean there is nothing to do.
- Write and save a course note. Refresh the page and reopen it.
- Check Today and Calendar. Unknown dates and unverified completion should remain visible.
- With Companion connected, refresh your selected courses and check an announcement or changed page. Close and reopen the website to check persistence.
5. Share what happened
Choose Share pilot feedback in the workspace header. Report the feature, result, device, approximate wait and a short explanation. You can report successful tests too. The owner sees only the report you consent to share and your account email; no chat or course materials are attached automatically.
If installation stops you before sign-in, tell the person who invited you the exact visible error, device and package version. Do not disable protections or share passwords, connection codes or private coursework. Keep testing independent website features after a failure.
