Your information in Neyvu.

What we save, how it is used and what you can control during the pilot.
Who operates Neyvu
Neyvu is an independent student pilot operated by Jose Pablo Samano. It covers the Neyvu website and Companion, including earlier SchoolVault-branded versions. It is not operated or endorsed by Acadia University, Google or Microsoft.
For privacy, access, correction, deletion or support requests, email jpss2004@gmail.com. We may need to verify that you control the affected account.
Information we keep
An access request stores your name, Google account email, Acadia student confirmation, consent to review the request and admission decision. It does not create a vault or collect Moodle. After approval, Google verifies your identity using your name, email and account identifier. This sign-in does not give Neyvu access to your Gmail inbox.
Your vault stores course names and links, supported Moodle page text, imported originals and extracted text, collection times and gaps, notes and versions, questions and replies, source references, study work, plans and saved preferences or corrections. Material visible in Moodle may contain instructor or classmate information. Collect and upload only material you are authorized to use.
We also keep session and device records, connection status, processing jobs and operational audit information to authenticate accounts, maintain saved work and troubleshoot the pilot. Hosting providers may process ordinary request metadata, including IP addresses.
Moodle stays under your control
You sign into your own Moodle account in the Companion’s separate Chrome or Edge browser profile, confirm the displayed identity and choose courses. Supported pages and documents, including downloadable PDFs, can be copied to your vault and processed for readable text. Collection and extraction have limits; restricted pages, scans, embedded media and other material may remain unavailable.
Companion does not upload your Moodle password, browser profile or session cookies to Neyvu. The Moodle browser session stays on your computer. Your local Neyvu connection credential is encrypted using the operating system’s secure storage. Closing or pausing Companion stops collection; revoking a laptop connection stops that connection from uploading new material. Already saved cloud material remains.
Where your data and AI questions go
Render hosts the School web service, database and private original files. The current School service is in Ohio, United States. Google processes sign-in, Microsoft distributes the Windows app, and Acadia operates Moodle. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Your question, relevant saved excerpts and conversation context are processed on the operator’s School Mac mini using a local language model. They are not sent to ChatGPT, Claude or another external model API in this pilot. Questions and answers are saved to your account. An offline worker can delay processing while your saved material remains available.
Accounts are separated in the app and database. Other students cannot open your vault through their account. The operator and infrastructure providers can access information as needed to run, secure and support the service; this is not end-to-end encrypted storage. We do not sell personal information or use students’ private materials as a shared course library.
Cookies, local storage and page resources
Neyvu uses session cookies for sign-in and a language cookie for your chosen language. Browser storage keeps interface preferences and some in-progress study work. The public animation loads GSAP from cdnjs and Lenis from jsDelivr; those requests disclose ordinary connection metadata to their CDN providers. Neyvu fonts are served with the site. We do not add advertising pixels or behavioral analytics to this release.
Optional feedback and model training
Using the app does not automatically submit a feedback report. If you choose Share pilot feedback and consent, the owner receives the feature, outcome, device, approximate wait, description and account email you submit. Chats, notes and course files are not automatically attached. Do not include passwords or private coursework in a report. Feedback does not automatically train the model, and private chats are not automatically pooled into a training dataset.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Pilot data and source history are kept during the pilot, with no automatic deletion schedule currently configured. You can request access, correction or deletion from your registered email address. Account deletion is operator-assisted; we confirm the outcome in writing. Operational logs and recovery backups may remain beyond removal from the active service. We will explain any remaining limits in the response rather than promise immediate removal from every backup.
Signing out, archiving a conversation, forgetting a saved preference, disconnecting a laptop or uninstalling Companion does not delete your cloud vault. Browser storage and the Companion’s separate Moodle profile may also need to be removed locally. Ask for guidance before resetting a connected installation so that useful work is not lost.
Changes and questions
Neyvu is intended for university students. If processing practices change, we will update this dated notice and explain material changes in the pilot. A new purpose or new sharing is not silently authorized by an old request. Contact jpss2004@gmail.com with questions or privacy concerns.
